As we move into a new school year, the health and safety of our PPS students and staff is very important. To help with this, we came up with a new program idea called Safety Sacks. We also recently received a generous grant from the Community Foundation of Central Illinois to use to get this new program off the ground. Safety Sacks will provide Peoria Public School students with essential items to help keep them safe and healthy when school begins.
Each sack contains a reusable mask, a bar of antibacterial soap, a reusable water bottle, and a bottle of hand sanitizer. We have put together 1,000 individual sacks that the Dream Center of Peoria will distribute to Peoria Public School students. We are so happy to be able to provide these items!
So how can you help?
We recently received an urgent request from our Superintendent asking for help in getting masks, hand sanitizer gel, and digital thermometers for the students when school returns. If you are able to help with this request, either with funding or a item donation, please contact PPS President Cindy Morris at firstname.lastname@example.org or click the link below to donate online. We appreciate all of the amazing support in this community!
