Mission & Vision

The Peoria Public Schools Foundation staff and Board of Directors work closely with the school district to help identify successful educational initiatives. The Foundation then receives and solicits gifts from individuals, community organizations, businesses, and other foundations to support identified initiatives.

The Foundation administers numerous special funds that have been established as named memorials to honor donors’ family members, former classmates, and teachers. Contact the Foundation for more information on supporting an educational initiative, establishing a special academic or scholarship fund, and/or making a donation for other purposes.

Our Vision

We envision…a community dedicated to making our Peoria Public Schools the best they can be, with our Foundation serving as a leader and catalyst to implement bold ideas that achieve remarkable outcomes for our children.

We believe…education is not only a school issue but a community issue. Private gifts make a remarkable difference in the lives of children and the future of our city.

Our Mission

The Peoria Public Schools Foundation is committed to attracting private investment to enhance and supplement public education. Established in 1992, incorporated in 1998 and restructured in 2007, the Foundation is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the local public school district. The Foundation strives to:

  • secure funding,
  • research and financially support “best practices” in education and direct private funds to those initiatives with high potential for impact on student achievement, and
  • Facilitate public-private cooperation and build public awareness of public school issues and opportunities for support.
