How to get Involved

The sky is the limit when it comes to ways you can get involved in helping Peoria Public Schools District 150 Foundation offer remarkable support to our public schools! The Foundation is always in need of a monetary, supply and service gifts.

Monetary gifts will be placed in a permanent endowment to generate income for years to come or may be directed to support programs and priorities that have been carefully reviewed, researched, and planned, or, if you wish, you may establish a new fund for a new initiative.

You may make a donation that is general in nature or one that is designated for something specific. Undesignated gifts will be strategically invested by the Foundation Board of Directors in areas that have the greatest immediate need. Designated gifts will be directed to programs or specific schools of your choosing.

Upon request by you, your donation may be endowed or non-endowed. Endowed gifts live on in perpetuity, with only the interest generated by investment spent annually. For instance, many memorial scholarship funds, named in honor of individuals, are endowed, with scholarships guaranteed for students year after year. Non-endowed gifts may be expended in total at any time. The Foundation staff and Board Members look forward to discussing your options with you.

As examples, you may:

  • honor an individual, living or deceased, with a scholarship or academic fund established in his or her name,
  • support a cause important to you, like the Truancy Assessment Center, which works with students on an individual basis to help them overcome personal situations (like a home fire) or family complications (like a death or divorce) that can interrupt regular attendance and make learning difficult,
  • promote a program in the District with proven success in other schools, such as expanded use of iPods for learning,
  • fund District-wide initiatives with great potential for innovation or change, such as charter schools,
  • support a particular school or activity, such as the baseball program, a speech team, or a book club at a specific school.
