Programs and Initiatives are often the icing on the cake for classroom projects, school goals and district-wide endeavors. However, it is often that sweet spot that gives the audience, large or small, a culmination to what they have worked towards. Unfortunately, that sweet spot is usually something our schools and staff cannot do or fund on their own.
For example, when funding was cut for the Truancy Assessment Center, a resource that was making a difference and getting truant students back in the classroom, donors through the Peoria Public Schools District 150 Foundation, helped keep the Center open and continue its work.
As educators and leaders in our community often held discussions on the future of education, Foundation donors helped them get national insight from the Secretary of Education, by assisting them in the purchase of event tickets. Many other programs and initiatives exist in Peoria to support education, and the Foundation is ready to make sure remarkable opportunities can take place in the future!
