Academic Enrichment & Recognition

Peoria Public Schools Foundation provides an opportunity for donors to designate their donation to a specific area within Peoria Public Schools.  Our office welcomes innovative and creative ways to fundraise in order to improve the environment, education and opportunties for our students.  Past examples of funds create for a specific purpose are:

  • The Deirdre Purcell Collins Mathematics Award: In honor of the late Deirdre Purcell Collins, her family set up a fund to recognize 7th grade middle school girls who excel in math.  They also set up a scholarship fund to support more than eight students annually to attend the ICC College for Kids program.
  • The Manual High School Band Fund: This fund was created to support the purchase of new band equipment, music and instruments.
  • The Manual High School Educational Fund
  • The Washington Gifted Middle School Fund: Provides an annual endowment used to support the purchase of new technology, field trip opportunities and other equipment.
  • Whitehurst Fund for Science: This fund provides monetary support for a senior science project for a current Manual High School student who excels in science and intends to seek a degree in biological or environmental science.
  • Valeska Hinton Early Childhood Center Fund
